There is an upper limit to the length of time that Audacity will record. At 44100, 16-bit stereo, I think it's around 12 hours. I'm looking for the documentation. Koz

Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Recording > [_] Playthrough (Deselect). Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Devices > Recording. Pick your microphone or mixer -- a real physical thing, and not Stereo-Mix or one of the fake devices that Windows provides to record everything on the computer. Koz

Music advances are almost always handles by the device or player. MP3 has no provision for show structure. MP3's daddy was a video format, MPEG1. It's the video player that handled all the chapters and jumping.
