Re: recovering recorded file
Did you leave out one or two parts? Like you were recording the Vinyl Album on your Mac? What's your turntable? USB? Fill in the holes. Do you remember what you called the show? Click on the spyglass icon at the top right of the screen and type in the name or a portion of the name. Any hits? Koz

Re: Ok, I'm stuck with trying to 'clean up' this fuzzy audio
This may be where you press the perception elves into service. Apply regular Clip Fix to the whole show, reduce the level a little bit and send it back with a note. "I made it better, but it's still fuzzy. I think it's the best we can do." Nobody is going to do a direct comparison test and...

Re: M-Audio Omnistudio USB Interface
Did you launch Audacity after you plugged in your device? Try restarting Audacity. If that's still no go, see if the Windows Control Panels can find your device.

Re: Ok, I'm stuck with trying to 'clean up' this fuzzy audio
Another note. Most cameras have no provision for external audio and those that do have connections for tiny, delicate microphone signals, not powerful line level from a mixer. Only the very high-end cameras have connections and switching for everything. So that's probably where your damage came from...

Re: Recording Quality Problem
Strict Mic-In goes nuts if you try connecting the output of a powerful mixer. Some computers have the ability to switch Mic-In to different configurations and some Mic-In connections are robust enough to handle powerful signals. Just know that a Mic-In without a Microphone connected to it is unhappy...

Re: Recording Quality Problem
Also post a bit of the show here. Sometimes that can tell us buckets more than you trying to describe "distortion." In this instance you can probably post a long, very good quality MP3 rather than struggling with a short WAV. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936 Koz

Audacity is a free download. Always.

"Avius Media" Data doesn't Google well. Do you have a virus?

Re: Need tips for adjusting level
I thought there was another piece I forgot. What are you listening to when you mix? A Totally Excellent Sound System is a good thing -- or good headphones. Mixing on the laptop speakers will not show you interference, errors and bad clips -- until somebody complains about it in the final show days l...
