Re: Everyone laughs at me when I say I record with Audacity

It's not broken or sub-standard if that's what you're looking for. It's good to match the tools with the job. I've shot broadcast radio, broadcast television, and movie tracks with Audacity and never noticed anything wrong. I'm not doing post. My stuff goes to the high-octane editors for incorporati...

Re: Not Able to Record or Export to any format other than Midi

Since MIDI isn't audio, my guess is Audacity is making the MIDI instructions play the computer's built-in MIDI interpreter. So to record it, you would need to record "Music playing on the computer." https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_audio_playing_on_the_computer.html Koz

Re: Windows 10 April Update and Mic Problem (a different one)

You probably will need to find another computer you can try-out. I'm with him. This is an enormous amount of fuss and head pounding for a microphone that's supposed to be plug and play. Screen Shot 2020-08-25 at 9.08.43 AM.png Does that sound like what you have? I'd like a sentence such as: "I...

Lame was for making an MP3 file and is no longer needed.

What you need is the FFMpeg software to extend the number of different sound formats.

Re: Audio Feedback request

Fortunately, the first step in Audacity Audiobook Mastering is a rumble and bass filter. So all that trash vanishes. As near as I can tell, you have very well behaved noise and it nicely fades into the background during the reading—like it's supposed to. Don't go Diving For Noise. Set the playback v...

Re: How do you remove that metal-water noise from a recording?

will be okay, it´s a relaxation for youtube You should be careful about posting sound errors. They can wake you up just when you're getting relaxed. You don't want your calming presentation to turn into a class on technical sound mistakes. This is a big deal with the audiobook people. Book readings...

Re: Automatic removal of mouth smacks

I record about 15 seconds of lip smacking before the actual audio. Good to know that process works. In Theory it should. Noise Reduction attacks whatever you put in the Profile. I've been able to help room echoes just a little by collecting echoes—by themselves—in a file and use that for Profile. T...

Re: Audio Feedback request

Just so. I applied simple mastering to the raw clip and it passes ACX Test nicely. However, we are reminded you also have to pass theatrical tests before they will move to publish. You are a performance for sale. That's the goal. You sound uncomfortable. Your word spacing is odd and hard to listen t...
