Skype always changes system sound settings. Sometimes it forgets to put them back. If it's running in the background it usually keeps its settings. Koz

And a quick note there is 32-bit and 32-bit floating. You want to be clear which one you're using. Audacity uses 32-floating internally to avoid sound damage when you apply special effects and filters.

44100 is the sample standard for Music CD and 48000 is the sample rate for digital television. Both work pretty well but you should bias your choice to your job. Did you go through a USB hub instead of home run cables to the computer? Live audio doesn't like that very much. Are you using USB connected external hard drives? Koz

when I change the bitrate, it'll change length. When you change the WAV sample rate in Audacity and you do it in the wrong place, then yes, the length of the show will change. So if you try to do it in the management panel to the left of the track, the show length will shift as will the pitch, timb...
