Re: Static noise/hum and distorted voice
No. We can't do forensics. We can't turn buzzy trash into a recognizable voice. It sounds like a broken cable. That's what a voice sounds like when the shield in a microphone cable breaks allowing all the electrical noise in the room to enter. Microphone signals are amazingly tiny and it's easy to d...

No, I wanted you to type in exactly what one of the labels was. If you use punctuation marks, sometimes the computer or Audacity will act funny. Sometimes dates will drive the system nuts.

Re: 2.0.3 Click removal not working, sounds the same
I'm sure the instructions tell you to mess with the settings in the Click Removal tool control panel. The default sliders are only a guess and you have to tailor the tool to your recording. If you have a very noisy recording but the clicks are not prominent, the tool may not work right at all. Koz

Re: Edit chain help required
same bit rate quality If you're starting out with MP3 files, you will get the same bit rate, but not the same quality. Audacity doesn't actually edit MP3 files. It pulls them inside itself, converts them to a high quality format and then makes a new MP3 when it's done. the upshot of all that is a 1...

Re: Consistent noises quite after two seconds
It may look like an audio recorder, but actually your computer is a corporate communications device. One of the things communications systems have to do is recognize air conditioning and other room noises by their duration, and then cancel them out. So it's working perfectly. It saw your noise and c...

What did you call the songs? Exactly what were the labels?

Re: Does Noise removing twice badly impact the actual rec?
I was able to get rid of much of the fan noise with a simple notch at 171Hz Q=10. I don't think anything that far down is likely to impact the voice. Then you can go into the gymnastics to get rid of the hiss. Gentle rain in the trees hiss is less objectionable than the fan hum and you may find you ...

Re: One track is very loud and distorted but wave form is go
I then split this into 11 separate stereo tracks. How did you do that? If you stacked tracks one above the other, did you accidentally bump the +/- volume control to the left of one track? Why does it sound different even though the waveform is normal? And how did it get messed up in the first plac...

Re: move exported files not copy
Past the fact that it's extraordinarily dangerous, most operating systems will not let you do this. Moving only moves files without changing them. This is the same problem with people wanting to continuously update one sound file every time they edit or make a change. Any error or machine problem at...

Audacity will not "Scrub" or scan rapidly forward and back. So that's us in a hat.I must have the ability to fast forward or rewind
