This better? The tools couldn't agree on the pitch of the howl, so I faked it.
Effect > Notch Filter > 4220Hz Q=8
There's actually two different "things" in there. I didn't touch the crisp, hash sound.

Re: File Length Increases
How long was the show? Could we be talking about the difference between 48000 video standard and 44100 music CD standard? If your editor can't handle the difference that could be a problem. As much as five minutes? That may be out of range for a drop frame / non-drop error. Depending on the show. Koz

Re: Bitrate settings for M4A (AAC) Export
Someone will correct me, but I don't think M4A has a fixed bitrate. One of the advances over MP3 was intelligent, recursive compression making it a complete crap shoot what the bitrate was going to be at the end. It depends a great deal on what the source material is.

Re: How to layer vocals from one song over audio from anothe
That's what I thought initially. I think the problem is one track ran out of music too soon. The only way I know to solve that is compose more music. I heard this done at a dance club once. Grab a complete musical phrase and copy/paste to the end of the track that runs out (matching beats, of course...

We live on model numbers.DVD recorder with hard drive
Back to my initial post, the third option is to split the left and right, Effect > Amplify the right channel by 5.5 dB and then recombine them.

Most of the actions and tools fail when you're in Pause instead of Stop.

Re: Can I adjust audio balance?
If the goal is to play the music in an entertainment system, then the balance slider should work just fine -- although the show on the timeline will still be out of balance. Select the whole show by clicking just above the MUTE button. Effect > Normalize, select everything and normalize to -1 > OK. ...

That's weapons-grade overload. Describe the whole turntable system. Pretend I wanted to buy one just like yours and connect it just like you did.

Re: Processing Speed
Does it actually apply, or does the graphic just get out of sync with the effect? This disconnect isn't unheard of. "The blue waves are there, how come I can't hear anything." The blue waves are a separate process and in a recorded Project, they're actually separate files. Audacity doesn't...

Re: monitoring recording stereo issue
That's a juggling act. Set Audacity Preferences so it's recording from the Turtle Beach Stereo Line-In and not Stereo Mix or anything else. This may take some trips between Windows and the soundcard software. Set the playback preferences so the sound goes back out to the soundcard (where your headph...
