Re: Previous tracks bleed into the new one (Samson G-Track)
Just to cover the bases, you are using good quality, sealed headphones, right? http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/wynonna2.jpg Headphones are required for an overdubbing session. It's not unheard of for a particularly deaf rock musician to make the headphones so loud they leak through his mouth -- I'm n...

Re: Low output gain
You also need to deal with getting an analog signal into your computer. The Art, I think, has a USB connection, but the other preamp needs a stereo Line-In or something like a Behringer UCA202. A Windows laptop Mic-In won't do it.

Re: Low output gain
http://www.phonopreamps.com/tc750lcpp.html I have this one and it works very well. Art Pro Audio makes a very highly respected one, but I can't find it. http://artproaudio.com/ The link I have for it doesn't work any more. You'll be needing the RCA cables from the turntable and that thin black groun...

Re: Stops saving to desktop after awhile
How many files and events do you have on your desktop? What did you call the file -- the exact name if possible? What kind of file? What's a typical folder name?

Re: How to burn to CD
CDex is a Music CD ripping program. It takes the odd format music on an already recorded Music CD and makes it into common wav file format. Audacity doesn't burn anything. You need not only a CD burning program, but a Music CD Authoring program. You can force music or any type of file onto a CD by b...

Re: Low output gain
Is there a volume control anywhere on the turntable? This is a high-end turntable and I would expect some control of the operation. Did you get a support software package with it -- can you control it over the USB port? One of the problems with USB capture devices like turntables and microphones is ...

Re: I'm paranoid. Help.
Sorry to bother I'm just a quality freak. Then leave them in FLAC. All compression techniques work by causing sound damage. The best you can do is minimize it. It never goes to zero. If your local computer isn't up to the storage job, there are ways to use free cloud storage. People use thumb drive...

Re: Editing and adding audio
When you stop recording and start again, Audacity will produce another sound track under the first one. This is not dreadful. You can listen to one or the other by using the MUTE or SOLO buttons to the left of each track. You can also edit them individually and even export each one to their own soun...
