The background is suspiciously quiet. Did you put a noise gate on the sound before you posted it?

Re: Help with equalizing audio
This is kind of refreshing because 1: You're not a complete beginner, and 2: You're already doing a bunch of the stuff we were going to recommend anyway. We warn you that when you post like this, Do Not Help Us! This needs to be a clean shoot with no effects, filters or processing. Nothing like tryi...

Re: Importing order
If it's a Music CD, then you're stuck with Windows in the middle which insists on alphabetic filenames. I don't think there's a way to get around it.... The other elves will be along.

Re: Exporting multiple tracks
I'm a little shaky on this, but I think you can run the MetaData panel and delete all the fields you don't want to appear. Here it is. Audacity > Edit > Preferences: Import/Export > Show Metadata. Select that and the system will give you the opportunity to put whatever in those fields you want. Koz

Re: Microphone Won't Produce Sound in Audacity
While it appears to be a terrific device, two in and four out is not a standard sound configuration -- probably why it didn't just start working. The usual settings for a USB microphone device, 44100, 16-bit, Mono may not work for you. Two places: Apple (upper left) > System Preferences > Hardware >...

Re: Toggling between labels in single track
Edgar came up with something in another forum. You may not need the first step or two because you already have effects tracks. Edgar is starting with a blank screen. This may be close enough for you. Koz This is really easy to accomplish, except... <grin> Try this: 1) Create 15 secs of Noise 2) labe...

See? Label is not a unalloyed advantage.
That may work for the poster. I'm going to paste that into his thread.

Re: Previous tracks bleed into the new one (Samson G-Track)
If I had to guess at it, I would say FireWire might make the problem worse. FireWire maintains perfect, constant bit-communications both directions at the same time. It's what allows us to easily boot and do production on external FireWire drives, a trick not available to USB until relatively recent...

Re: Simple Step To Next Cut
Missed a step. Is there any advantage to stacking the clips one above the other and semi-automatically switching up or down? You would have to manage SOLO or MUTE and Focus. MUTE the current track. Lower The Focus One Track and Un-MUTE and Wait. Spacebar Play. And then whatever the reverse of that w...
