Re: Recording a multiple guest Podcast
And if you do some of that padding and decide to go with a more sophisticated microphone setup anyway, you have lost nothing. Microphones are not magic and they all work much better in a padded room. Have you noticed any sync problems in longer shows? It's there. The guests will slowly drift out of ...

Re: Recording a multiple guest Podcast
That could be made to work with a few simple but painful tricks. Each Snowball (you thought we were going to tell you to throw them out, didn't you?) has to be set to its cardioid position, not omnidirectional nor attenuated. Each guest has to be seated around a padded table such that they are in th...

Re: How do I record radio interviews over the phone?
Live recording is something you have to grow into. This American Life radio show has posted how they do their interviews, multiple ones every day . http://www.thisamericanlife.org/about/make-radio Never use the term "microphone splitter." Ever. Computer microphones can create distortion an...

Re: How do I record radio interviews over the phone?
Either of the two top Pamela licenses for Windows Skype are the answer. They will produce two independent audio tracks, you on one and the guest on the other (split recording) suitable for filtering, effects and production mixing as needed. Programs that smash both voices on one track can't do that....

Re: Recorded CD will not play in player or car.
That's a little messy. Audacity always works internally at 32-bit floating. If your show equipment also runs at 32-floating, then there is zero conversion damage when you manage and edit your show. If you start out life at 16-bit, then Audacity has to convert twice, once in and once out. As good as ...

Re: How to record yourself while at the same time hear yours
It doesn't matter what the microphone is or how it's connected as long as you don't need to hear yourself during the performance. Koz

Do you think you have the FFMpeg software package installed?
Are you a software developer?
Has this system ever worked? Has it ever done this current job well?
Are you trying to run Audacity over a network -- or any part of it?

Re: High pitched noise on USB mic recordings
I had a look inside the mic today and think it is something to do with the 40v supply to the condenser transducer. Maybe. But you have to account for the difference in effect between the live recording and the later playback. If I had to guess at it, I'd say the 40v element supply is very highly fi...

Re: Recording Through The Computer
Simple self-recording isn't possible on all computers, but if it is on yours, the setup should be no more complicated than it was on the old machine. See if any of this is helpful. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_audio_playing_on_the_computer.html Self-recording and recording...
