That means the mixer feed to the UCA202 is whistling.
Time to get specific. Which mixer? Where is the UCA202 feed coming from? Tape-Out? Can you get it from somewhere else, like temporarily jack into the mixer headphone feed?

Re: Behringer UCA202
The Line-Out and the Headphone Out have the same show. All Monitor does is provide a way of listening to Line-In and Line-Out at the same time as a mix. This would seem to be of limited usefulness, but it's required to do Overdubbing and Sound-On-Sound. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_...

Re: Stereo to Laptop for MP3 recording.
And just to be crystal clear, the turntable RCA connections and thin black wire are not "standard" stereo connections. They are the raw vinyl out of the cartridge complete with the RIAA distortion. The Phono-In of an amplifier or Phono Preamp is required to restore quality audio. That's wh...

Re: Reverb on .mp3 export file
Many people mean different things by "reverb." Could you be experiencing MP3 compression distortion? Make a new MP3 (with a different name) and when the Options button is presented, click it and make the quality setting something really high like 320. Does the show still sound funny? If it...

Re: The trouble with getting started
MacBook Pros went through three versions. This one where separate Headphone-Out and Stereo Line-In were provided. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MacLineIn.jpg Then there was one where you could switch one connection between Headphone Out and Line-In. I think the MacBook Pro 13" did this...

Re: Behringer UCA202
Does it still whistle if you listen to the iMac headphone out with the UCA202 disconnected? It's a home run between the UCA202 and the iMac, right? No hubs? Does it whistle if you switch the UCA202 to Monitor and listen at the headphone connection during the recording? Or stop playing for a second a...

Re: Why is there this phasing effect when I record?
I use the stereo tape out channel to record to my computer. I use the mic. input to record to audacity. I don't know that I would do that. The Tape Out of the mixer is powerful stereo and the Mic-In on a conventional Windows laptop is very sensitive -- and usually mono. Did you go into the Control ...
