Is there an existing posting we can listen to to see how you're doing? Can you make a really high quality MP3 and post it here?

Re: Volume
You could also try Chris's Compressor. http://theaudacitytopodcast.com/chriss-dynamic-compressor-plugin-for-audacity/ Chris makes the whole presentation louder and denser and tries to even out volume variations. I use it on a radio talk show that I get from download. It was fine when I was getting i...

Re: Sound problems (clipping?) when recording
I think you connected the RCA connectors from the Ion Turntable to the Mic-In of your laptop computer. That would give you all the symptoms: Gutless, no bass and gross overload. Did I hit it? Vinyl music is gutless. Music will not fit on a vinyl record without processing by the RIAA process. When yo...

Re: Profire 610 compatibility with Audacity recording
Where is it written you have to upgrade? If you get your system to work properly at 10.8, why would you intentionally sabotage that with the OS upgrade?

Re: No sound in headphones??
I have Logitech headphones Soooo. close. "I have Logitech USB headphones model number...?" Unless they're really strange, you should be able to find a USB Something, USB Sound Device, or something like that in your Audacity > Preferences > Devices > Playback: selections. You should be abl...

Re: Monitor Input
That's in two sections. Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Recording: [X] Playthrough (select) Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Devices > Playback. Pick something that has speakers or headphones on it. Main Audacity Window: Make sure the "Speaker" volume control is turned up. Still silent? Koz
