... different distances away from my mouth because it has a proximity effect. New to using condenser microphones ... It's not the condenser microphone. Directional microphones have proximity effect due to the vents, channels and tricks needed to make the directional pattern(s). Were you able to get...

Re: Combining tones trouble

"Moxie" = energy or loudness. White isn't the only one, either. White has equal energy per frequency. Pink has equal energy per octave which is a bit more like your ear actually works. There is a Brown one, too and I don't remember what that one is. We are warned that putting white noise i...

Re: eq

mp3 files are 192. That's a good thing. Audacity default is 128. Terrifically excellent would be 256 or higher. You can prevent the sound from getting any worse by exporting to WAV and not back to MP3. The trip back to MP3 creates the problems. "How come my song sounds honky and bubbly when I ...

Re: Canon Legria HF G30 and Rode VideoMic Pro and hiss

You're probably stuck. Noise Removal works by "tasting" a little of the noise in the profile step and then generating sharp, precision filters to remove those profile audio tones from the show. It works OK when you have fan noise, computer whine or other real world device noise like that. ...

Re: My Audacity's Play bard does not move when I press 'Play

How much free hard drive space do you have? Audio (and video) production sucks up drive space at a good clip. Every time you do an effect, Audacity has to save an UNDO version of the song. It can run into a lot of data in a hurry.

Re: eq

i am stuck with them (MP3) unless i can reconvert them to wav with Audacity. MP3 compression sound damage is permanent. You can convert the songs into WAV in many different programs including Audacity, but the music will have the MP3 damage burned in. If you used a very good quality for the MP3 cre...

You really are going to have to put some blank lines in your posts. Nobody wants to read nine inches of solid words. That looks like an insurance policy. Can you go back and edit that post and put idea breaks, paragraphs and blank lines in? There should be a little "Edit" button in the upp...

Re: Loading existing audacity file

Desktop > Go > Go To Folder > /Users/koz/Library/Application Support

Put your name in there instead of mine.

Make sure there is no 'audacity" folder in that location.

Re: Loading existing audacity file

when double clicking an .aud file.
Audacity doesn't have .aud files. The project manager is an .aup file.
did put the program in the trash and re-installed it.
Audacity can be sticky and I don't think you generally get the whole thing when you drag the application to the trash.

Re: Noise, only when in Record, or when meter is active

are you saying that I should not hear the microphone untill I click on either record, or on the meter, to monitor? No because that's what's giving your your multiple sound pathways and odd sharp feedback sound. This setting is buried in your Windows Control Panels and I'm not a Windows elf. There's...
