Re: Reverb missing in edit chain.
Each filter and effect that appears in Chains has to be carefully re-written and programmed to do that. It's not like we go down a list of check marks and tick off the ones we want. Eventually, they will all be included, but this isn't a vast corporation. It's a rag-tag bunch of volunteer coders tha...

Re: PLEASE HELP!!!
I think some Audacity installs try to save your exported work to the /Applications or other system folder. That's a bad idea. Export new sound files to Desktop or Music or other predictable place. Are you trying to run Audacity from the downloaded disk image? That's a bad idea, too. Install Audacity...

Re: How to change BIT DEPTH
Audacity always works internally at 32-floating, but you can make the Export be anything you want by File > Export > Other Uncompressed Files > Options. If you really meant how to change the MP3 Export Quality, that's contained in the Options panel for MP3 Export. You Export to MP3 by installing the...

Re: HELP please, No sound when exporting
Windows has an odd habit of assigning the microphone and the speakers to a USB microphone when you plug it in.

Re: I DON'T LIKE THE NEW UPDATE
You're the one! Everybody else hated GVerb. It sounded metallic and fake. It's only advantage was it was better than the one that came before. There are quite number of Nyquist plug-ins available... http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Download_Nyquist_Plug-ins I thought GVerb used to be available as a...

Re: Monitor level is distorted but no clipping.
It's possible that during recording, the headphone feed is getting twice the minimum daily allowance of sound. If you have the Windows Control Panel sending the microphone to the sound card during record -- and Audacity is sending the recording confirmation sound to the sound card at the same time, ...

Re: Monitor level is distorted but no clipping.
Well. Shucks. You're not doing anything obvious wrong. I need to think about this a bit. Sound cards can have two different Line-Out connections. the Green and the Black. I forget which is which but only one is intended for headphones. Sometimes you can tell because only one will change with the win...

Re: Alternative recovery tool
Terrific idea. I've said that the only reason a tool like this doesn't already exist is a developer has never done what you did to his daughters grade school play. Someone will immediately point out this will fail if you try it after editing. If an edited projects goes into the mud, that's pretty mu...

Re: Aligning time bar with actual recording time stamp?
Audacity is a sucky surveillance recorder. For one thing, you can't force it to Fold Over Record like a real recorder, and as you found, it doesn't easily do Time Of Day. You should be Googling for Surveillance Recorder. Koz
