Re: Can't Get Audio in Playback
Try unplugging the turntable. If that fails, make sure Audacity is trying to play music to the right place. Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Devices > Playback. You can also get there from the speaker setting in the toolbar just above the timeline. Also make sure the Audacity playback volume is turne...

Re: Maximum number of tracks?
I don't know of any natural limitation to the number of tracks past your ability to see them all on the screen. I've run into that limitation multiple times and the show survived.

Re: synchronize two tracks
If you want to fix an existing problem, you can use the Time Shift Button (two sideways black arrows). Select one of the tracks (double click inside the blue waves) and push sideways.

Re: synchronize two tracks
That one we can fix. If you're overdubbing and the first and second tracks are out of sync, that's an overdub setting. The short answer is to make a click track and then dub the click track playback onto the new track. Measure the difference and set the Recording Delay. http://manual.audacityteam.or...

Re: Increasing or Boosting Volume
Custom Compression is the hallmark of songs that need to sound louder than everybody else. Given what you're doing, you might make very good use of Chris's Compressor. http://theaudacitytopodcast.com/chriss-dynamic-compressor-plugin-for-audacity/ Chris's reason for being is to make everything come o...

Re: WAV file save problem
Does any of this sound about right?
http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... html#skips
Audacity has to run in real time, no waiting around for hard drive space to free up. Erratic or skipping is usually Audacity trying to keep too many balls in the air at once.

Re: How to remove ambient noise?
That's normal for a recording system. I wonder if there isn't something else wrong. This instructional video is clear and doesn't seem to have any noise problems.

Re: Yep, the "stereo mix" problem
Only one piece missing in all that. What are you trying to record? Stereo-Mix only works with shows going through the soundcard. USB Microphones or other USB equipment (for example) don't go through the soundcard.

Re: Audacity 2.0.3 - silence added instead of trim/effect
Audacity is not network aware. It doesn't understand network delay problems and trying to run it from a remote machine can give unstable results.
Does it work if you sit in front of the machine running Audacity?
