is not available in Windows 7 How sure are you of that? Is one of the problems that your computer or motherboard has no analog soundcard? http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/9995-sound-recorder-open-use.html We use Sound Recorder frequently for testing. Win7 does like to "hide things" it...

Re: Paste over, not insert
the selection must be the same length as the clipboard or the track length will change. Even if Track one of the show is Silence and you're managing the work on tracks two through x? That's why I said leave all the clips and segments on their own timelines and let Audacity Export create the deliver...

The reason given by the tech support of that system is that the file format is wrong. Did they give you a suggestion of exactly how they produce sound files for the system? Just because we've been ensnarled in conflicts before, are you trying to circumvent the company's own expensive, proprietary f...

Re: I can't find my File menu
Is Audacity "In Front and Stopped?"
Click anywhere on the Audacity Top Bar and then File and see if the menus come back. If they don't, do you have any of the other menus like Edit, View and Transport?

Re: Paste over, not insert
When you export the show, Audacity will mix down as many individual tracks that you have into one. You can Save the Project and Audacity will keep all the tracks and clips where they are -- stacked up, but please know that Audacity does not save UNDO -- ever. But you're right, if you have a "le...

Re: link songs into one session
I'm prompted to remind you that an Audio CD will only hold 78 minutes of music and it can't be changed other than some authoring programs will do 79. You can do this extended play trick with MP3 and a Data CD, but those will not play in your mum's car, older music systems or portable CD players. Koz

Re: link songs into one session
I know you want a one-click solution, but Audacity doesn't have Append > Import and in any event, that will not give you the beginning/end song overlap. You can do it manually. You can import all the songs one at a time and they will stack one above the other. Select each one and use the Time Shift ...

Re: Cursor functionality needs dramatic improvement
Scrubbing can be viewed as a very, very special, bi-directional application of Effect > Change Speed. As with any effect, it's never applied in real time (Select > Effect > Apply > Review > UNDO) and scrubbing demands that it happen in very real time. Remember all the requests that Effect > Equaliza...
