Depending on the interface (part numbers and names are good) yes. Record stereo and the microphones will split left and right. Some interfaces will allow you to individually adjust each microphone, some not.

Re: How can I get recorded voices to appear in both headphon
It's split recording and it's normally very highly desirable. If you wish to make one side louder than the other, for one example, it's a simple matter to apply correction to one without the other. People who live record both sides smashed together don't have that option and they complain all the ti...

Re: Audacity not recording my headset noice
This isn't a help desk. We try to keep solutions on the forum where the most people can benefit. You probably can't do what you want. Recording Skype is bad enough, but throw the game in there and it's pretty much hopeless unless the game has provision to do this. If you're doing game and commentary...

Re: Isolating a sound such as a......
I don't know that I follow that, but if you get the sound into Audacity, you can use the equalizer effect to boost the bass notes. Effect > Equalization. Select Graphic Eq. The sliders to the left affect the bass notes. The further to the left yo go, but deeper the note. You have to slide and then O...

Re: Need Help to Record from Home Telephone to PC
I need to come back to this. Yes, those are the most likely to work. They use the network (phone company terminology) inside phone to split the voices, and yes, I would expect that to work, except mine didn't because of severe hum and buzz problems. This was a sure bet when you had to rent the phone...

Re: disc not finalized
Yes, the sounds on an Audio CD are not sound files. That's why you need a ripper program to "convert" an Audio CD so you can edit the music. Don't fall in love with MP3. That's a delivery or internet format and causes sound damage when it works -- and you can't stop it or fix it later. The...

Re: Export to PCM 8bit Mono 8khz
That's not what the other company wants, is it? Windows Media is not 8-bit PCM, etc, etc. It's m4a or mpeg4, I forget.creates a wma file.
Thank you.Will keep plugging.

Re: Changing a track rate shrinks the wave size dramatically
We arrived in the middle of the movie. What was the show and where did you get it from? Audacity does not behave particularly well with "foreign" compression system or formats. Do you have FFMpeg installed? When was the last time you restarted your machine from power off? Which Audacity ex...

Re: 2 Tracks Recorded on top of each other - HELP
Do you have two blue wave collections one above the other? (Illustration). If you have scrambled sound tracks, you could have stuck "Overdubbing" on by accident. That will create summary mixed tracks and it can be a little startling if you're not expecting it. Audacity > Edit > Preferences...
