Re: Audible.com QC standards
That's not my goal. You may be alone there. Nobody is itching to be provided with a list of strange tools they've never seen before and don't know how to use to solve incomprehensible problems measured with college level techniques. Nobody drives up to Mt. Wilson to readjust the audio compressors f...

Re: How do I record music into audacity using my mixer ?
I removed your email address. Providing a live email on the forum is dangerous as we are a spam magnet. Past that, this is a forum not a help desk, so we like to keep the dialog visible so everybody can see it. I can tell you how to run Audacity, but the rest of the sound system is up to you. If you...

Re: Audible.com QC standards
Too many tools. The last setting down in Chris's Compressor is Peak Level and it can be easily set for a slightly lower peaks. I used values between 80 and 100 and the peaks gently drifted up and down as I did it. He specifically recommends that. Peaks shoot upward if they have significant high freq...

It's not going to help. He's a contralto.
With a very interesting presentation. His voice sticks in your head, unlike what's-his-name in the other sample.

Re: Getting a full and rich voice
We generally can't do much with requests that start out: "Can you make my voice into..." Or "Can you make a ______ voice into a _____ voice." Human voices are easily damaged and it's pretty obvious when we mess one up. Spanish doesn't bother me a bit. I live in Los Angeles. You w...

Re: Audacity doesnt work
Describe what you're actually doing. "I want to record my guitar with a USB microphone." Or even any microphone. We'll ask more if we can't figure it out. You need to know that recording something and hearing it while you're recording are different. If you Press record and get the bouncing...

I wrote them a note about the problems on the forum and the desirability of their supplying standards testing.

Re: Audible.com QC standards
Averaging the readings by eye which is about as well as you can do with spoken word. Since the original show clearly didn't come anywhere near close, I'm guessing this is a win. I think we're working at this too hard. All these specifications are ranges. "Somewhere between here and here and don...

Re: Playback is failing with multiple tracks
I'm betting your computer isn't powerful enough to play back that many tracks at once. One real time playback stresses the computer and the stress goes way up when you have multiple tracks. If you are trying to overdub live performances against recorded ones, that's much worse. Live audio is not lik...
