Re: Missing mp3 files after closing Audacity
Could you see "Intro - Title.mp3" in the folder while you were saving "Health Effects.mp3." Do you have Windows set to show you file extensions? Did you call the clips "Health Effects.mp3?" because if you did, then the real clips may be called "Health Effects.mp3.m...

Re: Missing mp3 files after closing Audacity
Did you see show number one in the folder when you were saving show number two? That's important.

Re: Missing mp3 files after closing Audacity
If you put periods inside your filenames, that can cause problem, too. Punctuation marks can mean unintended things things to the computer.

Re: Missing mp3 files after closing Audacity
No, that should have worked. What did you call the files -- the exact filenames? You can get into serious trouble by using punctuation marks inside a filename. Today is not 10/2/13, it's 2013-10-02. Dashes and underlines are OK. Slash marks can get you into trouble. Use the machine search tools if y...

Re: High pitched whine/hum.
One way around this is to not use the computer five volts. Run the microphone through a wall-powered USB hub by itself . This is a 'bottom of the servicing bag' trick that can also be used to extend a USB cable if you need it to be longer than the usual 6 feet (2M). We also assuming you're using the...

Re: High pitched whine/hum.
There are ways around that underwater thing, but you're right, clearing this up would be good. The reason you're unplugging and plugging the USB has nothing whatever to do with data integrity or bit interleaving, hoo, haa, etc. It's pure and simple the five volts and ground that are used in the anal...

What did they say when you contacted them? Why are you replacing their original track? If theirs "sounded funny" when you may have found out why.I'd suggest that you get back in touch with the game people

Re: recorded whispers under my house, need help
Try as we might, we can't do forensics. It's lovely that the script writers on the various CSI TV shows can start with trash and generate an actionable conversation, but in real life that doesn't happen. I noticed in the recent shows they don't even bother to pretend what they're doing is real. Nois...
