Re: recorded whispers under my house, need help

I don't think Tinnitus is going to cover it. I have that on occasion and mine sounds like air escaping from a tire. Constant tone or hiss. Not voice-like at all. I'm going with either actual voices or other noises filtered through an old house. Do you have Forced Air Heat? If you have central air co...

Re: Multitrack recording with Yeti - setting up latency

There are two latencies and they're different. When you listen to yourself live, that's machine latency and that's usually solved by plugging your headphones into the microphone like you're doing. Forcing your live sound to go through the computer is what gives you the delay. http://www.kozco.com/te...

Re: more like a mic help

Like the comment on Yahoo Answers, make sure you're recording from the Sonic Gear microphone and not the microphone in your laptop. Is it selected in: Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Devices > Recording. That's not a USB microphone, is it? You should be plugged into the Mic-In of your soundcard or l...

Re: High pitched whine/hum.

Yes, I see what the problem is. It's hard wired and you're stuck. I don't know where to go with this. If I was personally trying to fix this, I'd be "messing with it" now, paying strict attention to anything that could fix it, make it change or make it worse. Any symptom is welcome, either...

Is it possible to submit for testing without submitting for publication? Can it be made to be?

Re: High pitched whine/hum.

Is EMI the issue here? Maybe, but that wouldn't come and go on a whim. When you restart the computer, it has to individually manage each one of the USB ports, so it has to restart the five volts. Sometimes the startup works better than others. Do you have a radio or music player that takes a 9V bat...

Re: Editing Large Files into smaller Files

The way you're intended to do it is with labels. You set a label at the beginning and end of each song. Then File > Export Multiple and each song will arrive as its own individual file. A longer version is label all the songs front and back, drag select each song (the labels are sticky) and File Exp...
