Re: Avoiding compression, but raising level
This is already a wheel. You don't have to make a new one. Chris's Compressor is designed to even out production volume second by second and not damage anything too badly. It was designed to make opera so you could listen to it in the car. http://theaudacitytopodcast.com/chriss-dynamic-compressor-pl...

Does your Mac have connections that look like this.. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MacLineIn.jpg Then you can plug your decks or mixer directly into that circle with two black arrows. That's how I made this recording: http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/JMASoundShoot.jpg If you have one ...

Re: Audacity project too large to save
Other than not using multiple media files? I don't think so. This is a terrific learning experience. The real world has limits on storage and speeds. Audacity Saved Projects are limited to 13-1/2 hours of work at 44100, 16-bit, Stereo and I bet you can get there without the hours by loading up your ...

Re: 2.0.4 downloaded couple weeks ago canot record
Thanks for the complete information. That helps a lot. I changed microphones and that did nothing What kind of microphone? Part numbers? Most of that error log has to do with the third party FFMpeg software which has little or nothing to do with recording a microphone. I uninstalled previous and ins...

Re: Latency Correction Error
how to use the Time Shift Tool Click on the Time Shift Tool (two sideways black arrows). When you then click on the blue waves in a sound track and push sideways, the music will become later in time. If you have some music sticking out before (to the left of) zero, that may cause Audacity to act fu...
