Re: Hello. Need some live pod casting help . . .
I might be able to try another shot at this. I have a new, much larger mixer and it not only has AUX Sends, but you can tune them to be pre or post fader. My problem before was I couldn't create two completely independent mixes (Show and Remote Send) because even though the Peavey PV6 has Aux's, the...

Re: Cannot reveal "Stereo Mix" or "Line In"
There is a ready hardware solution. Use a Behringr UCA202 and strap the inputs to the outputs with a short RCA jumper cable. It even gives you a built-in headphone connection so you don't need the "Y" cables.

I can't think of a good way to do this live with your equipment so as to get it recorded well AND for your guests to hear it. That's the one that killed me. Turns out the computer recording the show still has left-over abilities. The playback side isn't being used and you can cause that to play mus...

Re: 2.0.4 downloaded couple weeks ago canot record
was notified the 2.0.4 was avail but obviously not ready. Commercial software users always wait for Infant Mortality to die down before they dive into a new version. That and there has to be a compelling reason to upgrade other than, "It's New." Nobody can test everything ahead of a new r...

Re: Recording bass guitar -fixing mistakes on a track
That's called "Punch-In" from the old linear tape days, but people forget that you can't punch out very well without leaving a hole. Also, you lose the original music to use for timing when you do that. You can use the Overdubbing tools to listen to the old track at the exact same time you...

Re: Multi clips from different sources/adjust & Balance leve
You may be using it wrong. I use Chris on a spoken word radio show where the two performers are wildly out of balance with each other. I change the first value, Compression Ratio from 0.5 to 0.77 and it smoothes out the volume variations just like the radio station does. You can use the default valu...

Re: 2.0.4 downloaded couple weeks ago canot record
It should be possible to remove Audacity 2.0.4 in Windows Add/Remove Programs. Install Audacity 2.0.3 if you kept the installer. I think it should ask you if you want to do a clean install (or something like that) and you should say yes. Don't forget to dump the unused icons, too. Audacity doesn't c...

Re: audacity won't play in sonar X1
Audacity is a really simple audio program and likes running on simple computers. It does not, as a rule, like co-existing with other audio programs -- particularly at the same time. Both programs try to grab the services and devices at the same time and that's not a good recipe for production.

Re: Adding video to my completed audio project.
If you're using consumer grade equipment, it might pay handsomely to do an end-clap, as well. Do the beginning clap as above and then shoot the scene, but when you're done, hold the clapperboard upside down and clap it again. That's an end-clap. You can use that in editing to figure out how far off ...

Re: Adding video to my completed audio project.
You're missing the piece in the middle. Audacity will sometimes open the audio track from a video by adding the FFMpeg software, but we can't go backwards. Even if we do manage to make a terrific sound track in Audacity, you'll need a video editor to jam our audio and your video back together. Do al...
