Re: Can't seem to get the enevelope to work.

Volume changes are are a little wacky. Your ear hears in dB, not percent like the blue waves are measured. 0.5 or 50% is only 6dB out of the 60dB that you can hear. Not a great change. Koz

Edit > Find Zero Crossings.

Noise Reduction may work for you and it's already written.

The Nyquist elves will be along.

Re: Audacity & Presonus 1818VSL Audiobox

I read the previous posts on 1818VSL but could not find relevant info. I couldn't, either. Does the 1818VSL appear in Windows controls panels as an Audio Device? If you can't get it that far, then Audacity will not be able to help you. Audacity can only use sound provided by the computer/Windows. Koz

Re: Audacity & Presonus 1818VSL Audiobox

Chances of somebody having your exact installation are zero, so the best we can do is try and extrapolate from the web pages and instructions on each device. This may take a bit. Koz

It's putting thumps in the show. After has "fist smacking a pillow" sounds that Before does not have.

Do you have a killer sound system or good headphones?

Re: Automatic removal of mouth smacks

In general, if you didn't start out being a presenter/announcer, it's rough to get there with filters, effects and editorial. As you found out, you can't just slice out the offending sounds, you have to put something back in order to maintain the length of the performance. Whatever you put back has ...

Re: Complete Novice, very confused, please help :-)

The blue connection on a normal soundcard is the Stereo Line-In. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/soundCardFinal2.jpg But it doesn't have to be. We had a run of bogus soundcards that scrambled the colours, I don't know, because the manufacturer thought it looked cool? It drove us nuts not only...

Re: How to Upgrade to 2.0.4

I would so stay with your working 2.0.3. 2.0.5 is under testing and may be more useful than 2.0.4.

Re: 1 channel - 2 channel recording

Are you using Mic-In as the connection to your phonograph? Unless you have a special or celebrity laptop, it's mono. It's only one of the problems with using Mic-In for a stereo show. Describe your system down to the connections. We may be able to save you a lot of work and/or distortion.
