Missed one. Grab the right-hand edge of the sound meters and pull so they're very much bigger. You can undock them, too.

Re: Some newb questions...
I'm a complete newb when it comes to all this, So you're not shocked if you don't sound like Marshall Mathers/Lady GaGa right away. We have posters that are shocked and upset they can't just press record on their iPhone. I know this isn't the ideal way to do things... I should really practice playi...

Re: Regarding remastering cassette tapes
Digitize a typical sample of one tape and post it. Include a second or two of silence. Export FLAC instead of WAV or use a really high quality (320) MP3.Audacity to clean up and make the recordings sound really good.

Re: PITCH OF VOICE PROBLEM
would say that it sounds anything from a fraction to half an octave too high. Also the pitch is unaffected. I would say the pitch is a fraction to half an octave too high. You never answered the speed question. Find a clock not your computer and smack a fork in front of the microphone and then smac...

Re: Chaining and "Amplify" Parameters
There's some discussion whether you want to do this in Audacity at all. Audacity doesn't edit MP3. It makes an internal copy of an MP3 show and then makes a whole new one when you're done. It's this second MP3 that causes problems. Because you're making an MP3 from another MP3, the honky, bubbling c...

Re: Using Audacity/Scarlett 2i2 to record radio programs
No. The Focusrite has two mono inputs and they switch between Line and Microphone. This thing isn't a mixer. Everything on the left of the unit appears on the left of the show. So you would adapt your music system to two tip-sleeve 1/4" connectors and put one in the left and one in the right --...

Re: How do I reduce p pops
It's very common to use 100Hz cut filters in live recording. There is very little good sound down that low and rumble just creates problems (See: trousers moving in front of the speaker). I have one mixer with selectable 80, 100, 120 filters. You can even buy a stand-alone 100Hz filter. http://www.s...

Re: Super USB Cassette Capture Won't Work
It should work without any of the analog connections. Pull them out because they're just confusing things. Plug the turntable system in and then start Audacity. Not the other way around.

Re: Error while opening sound device ...
Dig in the instructions and see if it requires ASIO driver software. Audacity doesn't support ASIO. The device does show itself in Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Devices > Recording, right? Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Quality > Recording 44100, 16-bit should connect to almost anything. You also...

Re: Listen and record simultaneously
Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Devices > Playback. Select your soundcard or whatever you're listening to. Windows likes to scramble that setting when you plug a USB sound device in.
