Windows control panels. If they don't appear there, then Audacity doesn't have a chance.

You can sometimes get around that by adding software. I think Total Recorder can do that with almost all versions of Windows.

Recording what's playing on the computer -- assuming you're doing it right -- is not a standard process. That will never appear on the list of features when you buy a computer. Sometimes the response has to wait for an earth rotation before we get to it. The 10,000 foot view is to put a label at the front of each song that you want separated.
