Re: Powered Monitors?
Don't know if another 8" monitor of similar quality, that comes on sale, etc. is an option. No. It has to be model numbers and sometimes even that doesn't work. They redesigned my model a while back to work "much better" and I don't like them as much. I knew what I had and bought thr...

Re: Long Standing Hissing Debacle (Audacity 2.03)
Fiddled around w/ the USB ports - swapping connections around. It's interesting how the levels reduce/increase by which port is in use for the microphone. Although reductions have been made, it's nothing substantial. They don't. That's impossible. The audio signal is digital at each one of the USB ...

Re: auto start and stop
Audacity has a pretty simple Timer. Transport > Timer Record. You only get one "event" and it's really easy to set the times and dates wrong. They tend to roll funny. I once set an event to record and I got the wrong day by accident. Pay Attention. Please note you have to insure the machin...

Re: PITCH OF VOICE PROBLEM
The manual does not explain the difference between Fast Sinc Interpolation (Real Time Conversion) and High Quality Sinc Interpolation (High Quality Conversion). Mosts people don't have problems that would require heavy system changes like this, so you have a celebrity problem. I recommend extraordi...

Re: Real Time Date&Time Stamping
Sure. No problem. Audacity itself doesn't support time stamping, but if you're willing to sacrifice one audio track, you can use SMPTE TimeCode. SMPTE TimeCode is a low quality audio signal designed to work on the cue track of Quadraplex videotape machines. It carries time signals down to 1/30 of a ...

Re: PITCH OF VOICE PROBLEM
If the issue is a seriously incorrect clock speed on the built-in sound card, and you don't want to record overdubs, then adding the USB sound card to play back your USB mic recordings may well solve the audible problem. Would that not throw the timing off? We did that test. A minute of performance...

Do you have heaters or air conditioners running in the room? Fans?

Re: Long Standing Hissing Debacle (Audacity 2.03)
I'll take a look at removing ALL connections one by one and see if a culprit appears. The noise isn't coming from other devices (necessarily). The 5 volt system inside the computer runs almost everything including the USB ports and most things don't care if it's a little noisy. The magic of digital...

Re: How do I create the voice effect in "Perfect Day"?
We don't know, but it appears to be a combination of echo, reverb and chorus.

Re: Intelligent splitting of audio files?
I suspect somebody would have to write that. Further, you appear to be needing a collection of tools and filters that don't work too well when used by themselves, and would be a time-consuming disaster when combined.
