Re: Start of words cut off
Audacity records to its own high-quality internal format, but you can Export your show as WAV naturally and with the addition of the Lame software, also export to MP3. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#maclame You are warned that MP3 is an end product. Once you ...

Re: Pseudo or even real Real Time Clock
Any timeline gets messed up when you start "doing things" to the audio. The film people have edge codes, literally numbers printed on the edge of the film. You print the Camera Negative (and then lock it up). You beat up and cut the print (multiple times if needed) until everybody likes th...

Re: Stereo mix and external mic won't turn on at same time
Make sure if you're expecting stereo that you're getting stereo. Make sure the left and right sound channels don't match. Particularly that sound on the right in the video is present in the recording. This is a very common error. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/Line-Out_Mic-In.jpg Two things ...

Pseudo or even real Real Time Clock
I wonder how terrible it would be to provide a Project option to grab the computer time at the beginning of a recording and save it as one of the files in _DATA (or somewhere). Time-of-day is not an unknown request and is a major problem with people trying to convert Audacity into a surveillance rec...

I haven't tried. I'm responding to another recent posting that assures us it doesn't work.

Re: Get time for debugging purposes
Are you working up to give Audacity Time Of Day? That would be welcome.

Re: Changing tempo makes file three times bigger
Audacity will not edit an MP3 file. That may seem a little odd, but what it does is convert the show to a very high quality internal sound format in order to be able to perform effects and filters with little or no damage. This leaves it with the necessity of making a new MP3 when you're done. We wa...

Re: fix clip <> repair
I don't think there is any difference between them and danger bells ring whenever anybody asks about them. Effect > Clip Fix is intended to repair an occasional audio peak that gets too loud for the digital channel. It "runs out of numbers" and just stops increasing in size even though the...
