Re: will not download
Sudden, unexplained, massive failures like this can sometimes be traced to your hard drive filling up. Start > My Computer > right-click C: > Properties. This may be different on your machine. Pay particular attention to the suffix on the numbers quoted. I once sailed into repair mode confident that...

Re: Workflow for wav files in film editing
Are you talking about Broadcast WAV? They won't open up in Audacity now, will they? Have you tried to install FFMpeg? That's the go-to software package that allows Audacity to open up "foreign" file formats.

Re: au data recovery?
Tantalizing or not, without auto recovery or the AUP file, the chance of full recovery is zero. As you may have noticed, they're not all sound clips and they alternate left/right. So there is a very, very remote chance of recovery if you have all the files. You might recover most of the project by s...

Re: Guitar Amp.
If you get crunchy sound or fuzz guitar you didn't intend, that could be the mismatch between the guitar amp and the Microphone-In of the computer. Some work. You may get lucky.

Re: Audacity Waveform Scale Enlarged
You magnified the display by accident. Mouse over those numbers and your cursor will change to a +. Press the Shift key and the cursor will change to -. click and the display will shrink back to normal. It may take more than one click.

Re: Unclear voice
What was it? What was your show? Describe the production.I made my first record today with Audacity.
Audacity does not save sound files. You saved an Audacity Project and you posted a small portion of it that we can't hear. To make a sound file File > Export.

Re: External audio input to new macbook pro
Did you buy a 13 inch? Many of those have switchable connections. I bought my last 15" because it had both connections. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MacLineIn.jpg I understand by adjusting preferences I can change this to audio in Apple (upper left) > System Preferences > Hardware > S...

Re: Help! Blue Yeti high pitch noise
That's one possibility. The other is your new motherboard has ratty 5 volts supplied to the USB ports. Audio from the microphone to the computer is digital and fairly robust, but making the audio inside the microphone is analog and subject to interference problems. There is electronic processing ins...
