Re: Samson G-track recording problem

If the G-Track records bad audio in other software then it's broken or there's something wrong with the USB ports on your computer. Can you try a different computer?

Re: "Mute" multiple audio clippings?

You can turn on Clipping Indicator: View > Show Clipping to help you find the damaged work, but I don't think automation is going to come to your rescue. A tool like that would not help very much and would probably make the problem worse. A damaged wave consists of the lead-up, the actual clipping, ...

Re: Determining the peak volume of a recording (2.0.5)

You can do it obliquely. Load the clip and Effect > Amplify, but don't apply it. Just read the top number. The top number is the number of dB that the "performance" has to be amplified to reach the bottom number.

Re: Recording from Cassette to mp3 converter.

Audacity always works with the computer's sound services. That's why we always send you back to the computer when you start having problems. If the computer doesn't know what's going on, then Audacity is useless. There was another poster having troubles with a USB PnP cassette player. In his case, t...

Re: External audio input to new macbook pro

I said you had pieces of a recording system. The microphone will not plug into the Behringer UCA202. You still need a mixer or microphone amplifier. Koz

Re: Unclear voice

That recording is trash, but we may be able to help with the next one. It sounds like your recorder is trying to make the presenter into a communications or Skype session. That's what the gargling, honking, and boiling is. If all you did was a simple, "non-enhanced" capture, I bet the whol...

Re: analyzing stereo and mono tracks

audacity has something built in to see stereo ? I wish. Audio Vectorscope is a requested feature. http://www.nugenaudio.com/phase_scope_vector_VST_AU.php The fastest way to see what you're doing is that magnify and look test if you can't get that plugin to work or it doesn't do what you want. It ha...

Re: lower volume of synthesizer solo- Windows 7

You can't, as a rule, take apart an already mixed song into individual instruments and voices and that's what you have to do to change the volume of one without affecting the others. Koz

Re: no choice for stereo when selecting USB PnP Sound Device

That would suggest the Plug and Play device is supplying mono.

What happened when you looked in here:
"Go > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup."

Find those receipts.

Re: Exporting Multiple Tracks

What you're supposed to do is record one complete side (or both if you want to do a little editing). Stop the recording, cut it if you need to, and place an Audacity Label at the beginning of each song. Look for the little hole in the blue waves. The song gaps are not that hard to find. Then Export ...
