WMA will apparently open up in Audacity with the FFmpeg libraries installed. After the work opens, File > Export: WAV (Microsoft).
Download FFmpeg here http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... tml#ffdown .

Is this part of an earlier post? I didn't see anything associated with you. Koz

Re: Circle waves
Circles have a problem because part of the wave goes backwards, from right to left. The timeline never goes backwards. It's always now to the future, left to right. There are scopes and waveforms that don't have "time" in them, like audio vectorscopes and phasescopes. Those can totally gen...

Re: How do I paste a cut into a new file?
If there is no new file, then Tracks > Add New. That will give you a fresh timeline and you can paste into that.

Re: How do I paste a cut into a new file?
Import the new file. It will appear as a second track underneath the existing one. Audacity will try to play both unless you use the MUTE or SOLO buttons on the left.
Select the second (new) track, click and paste.

Re: Can't get Audacity to use default Windows playback devic
We don't see an attachment. Did you change the device in Audacity Preferences? Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Devices > Playback? If the sound device isn't listed there, then that's why. If it is listed and you select it, the device and driver must be running and correct before Audacity starts. Aud...

Re: Recording problems
Audacity looks for new devices when it wakes up. So plug it in, let the computer mess with it and then start Audacity. There's also a UCA 222. Aside from the color, I can't find any differences. Koz

You should be able to record from Stereo Mix and capture Sounds Playing on the Computer.

Re: How can we cut a track to insert short recordings to it?
I can't think of an easy way to do this even with 40 different commentaries. You can't set a point and just start recording with the succeeding tracks pushed out of the way. There may be other tricks, but the desperation method is to record your first commentary just by pressing record. The commenta...

Re: Getting Rid of Background music on Mono audio.
MP3 is a compressed medium and because of that, voice and music tracks are damaged and never exactly match each other. That usually kills the cancellation trick. MP3 seems to be really cool because it makes really small files, are easy to transfer around the internet and they're universal -- everybo...
