Re: Editing
The only way I know of to record twice on the same track is Append Record (Shift-R) and that only works at the end of the show. You can set up for Overdubbing, record the new segment at the right time and then produce the appropriate ins and outs by fading or careful cutting. If it's a significant p...

Re: usb midi recording
If you push on the keys it does make sound, right? Get adapters between the keyboard stereo-line out (or headphone out) and your computer. If your computer has no stereo line-in like a windows laptop, then you're into a USB adapter such as the UCA202 that I use. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pi...

Re: Limit Export options to just WAV
I don't know of any way to do that. Once you step outside of the regular Audacity tools and settings you're into reprogramming and coding. Maybe in some distant future version, but only if a bunch of people ask for it. If you go through an Audacity program settings reset, then WAV export will consis...

That may be the time and place to use the straight Compressor. Very few radio programs or operas feature dead air like that.

Re: How to Record Melodies onto One Track?
I use the phrase "perfect ovedubbing" to signify that you can hear a perfect, theatrically correct version of the show in your headphones with your own live voice in it during recording. That's hard to do without special hardware, but many people like that.

Re: no record input
Do you get blue waves when you press record and then press stop a bit later? If you do, then you have a recording and just the play system is messed up.

Re: pulsating buzzing caused by half in microphone
That doesn't appear like normal sound interference. I don't think the mic got pushed over. I think you had very serious electrical interference during the shoot. It showed up in the headphones you were wearing during the performance, right? Will you be wearing headphones next time? "I can't get...

Re: pulsating buzzing caused by half in microphone
You need to post a segment like this one but one that has the pulsing noise by itself. Where the speaker takes a breath for a second, but the gasp can't be audible. Noise Reduction needs that. I think we can help, but the buzz may not go totally away. Koz

Re: How to Record Melodies onto One Track?
Overdubbing is the process of recording yourself multiple times as a chorus or barbershop quartette or play multiple instruments, etc. If you don't know how to do Overdubbing already, how did you get your voice to work with background instruments? The 10,000 foot version: You set up for Overdubbing ...

USB sound card (both Gemeni & Behringer) Model numbers. These people make a lot of stuff. What happens if you back off the signals on the mixer? Typically, USB services a Mac aren't adjustable -- although some are, so you have to get it right at the mixer. You should not be using connections la...
