Re: Waveform displacement
That's DC Offset. Both of those could be caused by messed up USB services in your laptop. It is a laptop, right? USB microphones and equipment are slaves to the services provided at the USB connector. In effect, half a USB microphone is inside the computer and half outside. If the computer drops the...

Re: Need help cleaning up sound
Please tell me you have all the original clips and tracks that you made the show with and didn't make the newbie mistake of stepping on and destroying the old work with the new.

Re: Need help cleaning up sound
At what step did the squealing happen?
You should post some of the show on the forum, or point to it if it's already on-line somewhere.

Re: Horrible levels USB recording :(
Dance mixers are not the easiest to figure out. They're built for instant access to the special effects needed by a DJ, not logical signal flow. On my machines, the Behringer loses control of the volume when I connect it to my Mac. So that's normal. The system normally runs wide open. Your Audacity ...

Re: All I need to do is burn my cassettes to CD's
I recorded off the cassette again to do this. When you captured your cassette the first time, you should have Exported the whole thing as one long WAV file which you then burned to the CD. Where did that WAV file go? You should be able to Open Recent, click on the file and go. No re-recording neede...

Re: Using Steinberg MR816x 8 channels at once
You can build/compile Audacity with ASIO support for you, but then it's full stop. You can't make it available to anyone else.

Re: Using Steinberg MR816x 8 channels at once
Audacity will record multiple channels at once, but it's a slave to whatever the computer is doing. If the computer can't send eight channels to Audacity, then it's game over. Many interface services split up multiple channels into numbered stereo pairs. So the maximum number of channels is still st...

Re: Audacity adding blank sound to file
it won't work unless I export it with a different file name. Exporting with the same filename -- "stepping" on the old file -- is insanely dangerous. If anything happens to the machine during the export, it could destroy both the old and new shows. it never did this before Before what? Koz
