Dueling posts. I bet I can post faster than you can.......
That duplicate and change the track designation thing should work. Let us know where you get stuck.

Re: Blue Snowball High Pitched Humming
Excellent. That means it's almost certainly a problem with soft or ratty USB services. You're upgrading from a 600W power supply? Are you welding steel girders? You may have inadvertently pointed to the problem. If you have a rock-crusher, nuclear weapons-grade video card, that can totally create no...

Re: Blue Snowball High Pitched Humming
Did you try moving the microphone close and further away from the computer? That will rule out EMI and RFI problems if it doesn't change. If I had to guess at it, I would point to the motherboard USB services, not the power supply. But anything's possible until we nail it. And try to keep up with th...

Re: recording is randomly interrupted
It's OK. We got this. Win7 has sound processing that can cause unwanted "magic" effects in an ordinary show. You should go look in your machine to see if all the conferencing and communications "enhancements" are turned off. See if any of this helps: http://manual.audacityteam.or...

Re: Audio Tracks always jump to the next track
You can continue to record at the end of any existing track with Append Record (Shift-R). Does that help?

Re: Audacity saves my files wrong, please help!
Just because I have no good direction yet, did you try restarting the machine?
Koz

Thank you for including a good sound test. Do you have a short segment of an old show you can post where everything is working?

Re: Remove rude guy yelling during tape of son's basketball
Not an automatic way, no. We can automatically make the yelling the same volume as the rest of the show. You can use the Envelope Tool to reduce the volume of the yelling manually word by word through the course of the show. You up for that? After you get good at it, I figure it can't take you more ...

Re: Some help with Noise Removal?
I was eating lunch and I passed a "Pro-Looking" video crew also having lunch (three people looking serious). I asked which microphone was inside that wind sock and the techie said it was a Sennheiser 416. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MKH416?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=PPC&am...

Re: Some help with Noise Removal?
I'm going to have to sit down for a minute. Few people get so many things right in one posting. The mic I have is fairly old, and it was made to sit in a hot shoe, plugged into a DV-tape camcorder using a 3.5mm audio jack. First problem. XLR microphones are very carefully matched to their preamplifi...
