Re: How to change audio (voice) pitch without distortion
The short answer is no. Simple Pitch Shift moves everything up and you can't do that when you move voices. For example, if male and female actors say the "SS" sound, you can't tell who's speaking if your eyes are closed, but the instant they start speaking words, it's immediately obvious. ...

Re: Adding Effects
Audacity doesn't do anything in real time except record, play and timer. It's a post production editor and yes, it is awkward to have to apply effects multiple times to achieve the result.

Re: 50 Year Old Analog Audio Noise Removal Issue.
While we're looking, you're using Noise Reduction wrong. Make sure you select a Profile from a portion of tape that has no other performance in it. Nothing. No singing, no voice, no background sound, just hum. Then back off on the correction dB number. Start with a small number like 6 or 12 and work...

Re: 50 Year Old Analog Audio Noise Removal Issue.
One of the rules with Noise Reduction is the show has to be louder than the hum. So that's a problem. We have an experimental hum filter here somewhere that automatically pulls out the hum tones normally experienced in, for example, bad cable hum or power supply defect. Conventional problems. Search...

Re: Rank Beginner Seeks Feedback on Feedback
We may be able to dig you out of this. What kind of microphone do you have? I predict [holding fingers to forehead] you are using a new USB microphone on your Windows laptop computer, right? That type of noise is almost the poster child for laptop USB problems. Nobody cares if a USB connection is a ...

The other thing you can do is play against a click track, so you can always get straight back to the song rhythm.

Re: AVS Media Demo voice overrides Audacity recording
Put AVS back in and this time remove it with Control Panel > Add Remove Programs?
Does AVS have an Uninstaller?
No one is shocked that AVS put the copy protection in a place very difficult to remove, but it does suggest you removed AVS wrong.

Re: Want record to start on timer while playing
Audacity doesn't do punch-in. You can simulate punch-in with a lot of production tools and clicking and dragging, but it's not going to be automatic or fast. Many fumble-fingered performers repeat the phrase immediately corrected and just keep recording. Then go back later and slice out the fluff. &...

You should not double post. Now it's anyone's guess who is responding to what.
