Re: Home recording question
You can use multiple microphones on multiple computers. Record in several different Audacities and combine the sound files in Audacity later. That does work, although you could have the multiple microphone drift problem from earlier. A word on that. Drift means you clap on-mic at the beginning of th...

Re: Home recording question
Not by pushing a button, no. Macs have a thing they call "Aggregate Device" where you can smash two USB microphones into one and record the combination as one microphone . You don't get two different tracks. Because they're two separate digital microphones, they drift apart over the course...

Re: No sound when recording
the AUX output on my mixer to pick up the sound. Do this little trick and see if there's anything on that wire. My bet is no. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/earBudsRCA.jpg That's any headphone or earbuds with a 1/8" plug. It won't blow you ear off with high volume, but it should not be...

Re: automated silence interval
I'm not entirely sure how I would do that manually, much less automated. Import or Open the show. Using the drop-down on the left, Split Stereo Track. Select the top track and drag-select 1/2 second. Silence it with Control-L. Select the next 1/2 second on the bottom track and silence that with Cont...

Re: Large sections of my project dissapears after saving
Have you seen this Happen any where else? No, but you did come up with a squirrelly problem. Computer file management can get seriously Twilight Zone when you start using unacceptable characters in the filenames. 1/9/13. That's not today's date. That's a file called 13 inside a folder called 9 insi...

Re: Is it possible to use without a sound card?
Do you have pink, blue and green sockets? Then you have an integrated soundcard. Very few computers come without some kind of soundcard. People would return a computer that couldn't run Skype. I'm trying to use audacity to record my dj mixes Perfectly rational. Where is the mix now? You have a mixer...

Re: Some help with cassette tape recordings (live)
I am that musician who can write music, sing it and even play it, but I just can't quite grasp mixing/mastering it. It's not necessarily the music, although it ranges from Folk Rock to Heavy Metal or Hard Rock. It's the plug-ins and all etc etc, lol We never did get a goal in all that. What's the g...

Please note I'm resisting calling the hyphen an "Upper Case Underscore."

Re: Large sections of my project dissapears after saving
Not necessarily. You can use a short form:
Numbers, Upper and Lower Case Letters and Underscore or Hyphen from the same key.

Re: New user- need help with recording. Please!!
That sounds very highly processed. Did you try to help it along before you posted it? We need as close to the original noisy files as you can get it.
As it stands, nobody is going to get anything valuable out of that.
