Re: Normalising tracks in 2.0.5, recorded in earlier version
We should get the obvious out of the way first. They do open and play, right? Can you export as WAV (Microsoft)? That's the desperation method if nothing else works. Koz

Re: Dogs only recordings?
Like a good dog whistle can only be heard by canines. The whistle part, yes. But anybody standing next to you will hear the escaping air and know you're doing something. I bought one from the pet store as a joke and it didn't work. Everybody around me could hear the escaping air and knew I was Up T...

Re: Audio Track is Solid Blue
What does it sound like? If it sounds OK it's a graphic problem. If it sounds like garbage, it's an audio problem. We've had both.

Re: Need Help Fixing Clipping
There's Effects > Clip Fix. What it tries to do is "paper over" the worst of the damage. You can't actually fix clipping because that's a portion of the recording where there is no recording. It's like somebody took a small hand gun and fired it at the blue waves. The question is can you h...

See if the device appears there and you can get sound with the bouncing blue-ball sound meter. This should always be there and working while you have th...

Re: selection
You shouldn't be setting label points (Audacity doesn't have Edit Markers) using live playback. Use the cursor on the blue waves to tell you approximately where the point is, Stop, drag-select around that point and zoom into it with Control-E. Play until you can tell where you and, stop and then zoo...

Re: Cutting noise from a laptop when recording from USB mic
Several notes. USB doesn't like running long distances very much. If you start having data cracking or other crashes, that may be why. Also, one of the services inside the USB cable is analog, not digital, and it can pick up electrical noise from powerful motors, lighting dimmers and other electrica...

Re: Unable to export project as MPs
It's true. That's a Project Manager text file. The rest of the show probably is not going to fit in the forum. Before we get all technical on you, what's the show? Did you sing into a microphone? Describe what you did and any part numbers you have handy. "I sang into Blue Snowball microphone.&q...

Re: Weird Noise Always In the Background?
Sorry. Missed one. That bubbly, honky sound is Windows Enhanced Services (probably).
