Re: New user - iTunes question
There's no direct connection. While the song is an Audacity Project, File > Export > WAV (microsoft). After you get the external WAV file, right-click > Open With > iTunes. In iTunes Preferences, there is a setting for "CD Importing." That's really iTunes format conversion tool. Pick the e...

Re: uca202 input volume suddenly way too quiet
No. What was the microphone you tried and sent back? What's the show? What are you recording? Are you singing? Which Windows? Deep in the Windows Control Panels on Vista, Win7 and Win8, there's a setting for Windows conferencing. It's called Windows Enhanced Services and it looks for long, sustained...

Do you have Windows Enhanced Services running?

If you're recording music, that could have been what was wrong with the microphone, too.

What was the microphone?
Can you make it worse? If you change the microphone slider in the picture, can you make the volume lower?

I think that's what Snap To and the time windows at the bottom of the main window do.

Re: External SSD drive via USB2?
I should have mentioned that I'm only editing, Yes. I would have a hard time believing an internal drive would be slower than cramming a data stream down a USB line. You may get marginal improvement if the external drive is near empty and the internal one is a basket case. Can you get on a lot bett...

Re: Can Audacity Do These Things?
He's pretty interesting. I may listen to the whole thing. I got this. He put his lavalier microphone on wrong. You're listening to his jacket rubbing against the microphone. He also bends forward and back and folds the mic behind his lapel and then reveals it. That's when his voice get muffled and t...

Re: Can Audacity Do These Things?
I'm going with no. I can help a little with the noises between the words, but the doctor is always going to have a ratty voice with static and bumps in it. The doctor spent the first few seconds of the lecture finding and putting on his microphone and that will be very difficult to fix. It sounds a ...

Re: Can Audacity Do These Things?
Yes, you can use Audacity to put the performance volume wherever you want it. I suspect it may be harder to solve the problem where the doctor leaned into and away from the microphone. You may need to solve that one minute by minute by hand. Both Effect > Normalize and Effect > Amplify will change t...

Re: Won't Playback What I Recorded
Hearing the work and actually having a recording can be two different things. Turn the speakers all the way down so you can hear nothing. Open up and play one of your performances. Leave the speakers off. Do you get the bouncing green sound meter and do you have blue waves roughly similar to this: h...
