Re: Acx help - Cancelling a narration.
The amount of grammatical errors in the book makes it even harder I'm curious about that. Actual grammatical errors, or written in regional vernacular? I can imagine trying to follow or present something like Creole or Deep Appalachia could be interesting. Somebody had to agree to publish and make ...

Re: alesis firewire stop start every second win7
There is one gotcha with this technique. There's no shortage of "Stereo USB Adapters" on the market. Most of them support stereo headphones and mono microphone recording. They are designed to be a direct replacement for the headset connection on the side of many laptops. Those only record ...

This may be easier than you think. It doesn't have to be a fire-breathing gaming computer to record stereo sound. Many laptops should be able to handle it. A Stereo Line-Level connection can be done with one of the Behringer adapters. UCA-202 or its sisters. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/p...

Match up the first words or sounds and roll to the end of the show and sort how far off they are. You can make this process enormously easier by coordinating a clap. At the beginning of the show, everybody, in sync, yells "One Two Three" and claps their hands. This is the home version of ...

Re: alesis firewire stop start every second win7
I cannot see any way in Audacity of setting it for 4 mono channel recordings?? Audacity will only record from one "thing" or device. Sometimes, if you have a well-behaved, multi-channel mixer or interface, you can coerce Audacity into recording more than stereo, but that's not always poss...

Re: Using Wrong File Format?
The stereo (two blue wave) sound file on the bottom is too loud. It's highly processed for maximum loudness so that the blue wave peaks are just sightly quieter than the 100% marks. Matching that with a home recording is rough to do. The top track is perfectly normal for a home recording. Home micro...

Re: Zoom Recording
I think doing it yourself has too many problems. The Chat and Conference programs have to keep a death grip on the sound system to work right and you're not allowed in. You do have something of an odd duck. Usually, you can record yourself, but not anybody else. You can do it through a Zoom client. ...

Re: Using Audacity to timer-record a podcast from the internet
the old version of Audacity ... which would not record anything. When people say that, they usually mean they can't get Audacity to record internet content. Did I hit it? Unless someone corrects me, even if you do get it all to work, I don't think that's what you actually want. I believe Timer Reco...

Re: Audio Feedback request
I have a story about getting a company PC from the Systems People who checked it out as OK. No matter what I did, it would not pass "clean" sound. Turned out it was running "Cathedral Effects" in the playback chain.
If this was easy, anybody could do it.

Re: Acx help - Cancelling a narration.
I'm lost. You volunteered as a theatrical reader for other people's works? Other people unknown? I think that's between you and the rights-holder/author. I don't think ACX cares as long as you submit perfect, correct, marketable readings. I made a mistake and got in too deep. Don't beat yourself up ...
