Either Shift-Click just above the MUTE button on all the tracks (to select them), or, I think it's Control-A (Select all)
Put numbers in the number entry blocks at the bottom of the main Audacity window. Selection Start: (0) and [X] End (5 sec.)
Delete key.

Re: Strange noise after noise removal
That came out well. The sound in the background is my computer This is one thing that kills you with USB microphones. You can't get alway from the computer noise. You should put chairs around the computer and drape blankets or towels over them to minimize the noise as much as possible. Make a little...

Re: Crackling sound when recording from ZOOM H4N
All I have ever done is transfer files. I have never tried to use the H4 as a microphone or live audio device.
I don't recognize the damage.
Do you have Audacity set for 44100 sample rate and the H4 as 48000?

Re: FFmpeg installation: Cannot find plugin
Does your install look like this? Most of that is Read/Write by koz (who is logged in) and Read-Only by everybody else. No "root" account. I have the Mac set to show me all filename extensions. That's why all the .app text is visible. Both MP3 and M4A work.

Re: deleted .aup file
There is only a need for file renaming while sorted by timestamp when the files are fed to the 1.2 Recovery Utility which expects a consistent naming sequence. OIC. Applescript appears to be still available on every Mac (except possibly the stripped-down ones). Python comes pre-installed on Mac OS ...

Re: Clipping at lower levels (<1.0)
Sorry. I'm missing steps. Pull out and replace the two ends of the USB cable. Make sure you're not going through a USB hub or any other USB management. If you have another USB cable, try that. If you change any USB connection, replace everything and restart Audacity. Audacity might get lost if you s...

Re: Clipping at lower levels (<1.0)
You can also get that if the 5 volts in your USB connection fails. That's what is running the electronics inside your microphone. If that starts to fail, the microphone may well start clipping and deliver damaged sound. Try a different USB connection or a different computer if you can.

Re: Clipping at lower levels (<1.0)
I don't really know if that's a decent theory... It's a terrific theory. Make sure it's turned all the way off and then you may have to go back through the Windows settings again, or restart the machine to return to defaults. Skype is supposed to return everything when it's done, but it doesn't alw...

Re: Pioneer djm800 Macbook pro retina
This was too easy. There's something you're not telling us, right? You want to run Skype at the same time? You want to use Network Connected Drives? Something?

Re: Pioneer djm800 Macbook pro retina
Interesting choice of words. "Record Me" assumes you're going to sing or otherwise perform a personal show. "Record my performance" assumes you're going to spin "media" (formerly disks) and record the result. Since you didn't mention a microphone, we'll assume the latte...
