The files on an Audio CD are not WAV files, but they are WAV quality and generally WAV format. The designers did that to smash as much music on a CD as they could. They're not hard drives which have to contend with multiple formats and complexity. They're a captive audience, so much of the unused fo...

Re: Can't download lame
Since it's a weekend, it possible the site is down for work. I believe you don't install Lame, you run an installer and the installer installs Lame.
Some Lame versions are particular to a version of Audacity. So if you have that combination, you have to get the right one.

Re: Converting MP3 file to a .wav. 16-bit 44.1kHz file
The original recording is off a CD. I converted the original recording to mp3. If you got it from an Audio CD, the music format is high quality WAV standard. You converted it to ratty MP3, so you could re-convert it to WAV (you don't get the quality back). Can you reconvert the original CD to WAV d...

Re: Moving from 1.2.6 to 2.0.5 questions.
retain effect settings and/or establish presets. That's a reason for not upgrading. it's been awhile and wanted to tryout some of the refinements. They won't be refinements with that big a jump. There's going to be some tools and interfaces that you can't find and some settings that are very differ...
