Re: Distorted playback...sometimes
Are you recording audiobook chapters? Are you using Audacity Audiobook Mastering? https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Audiobook_Mastering This is the abbreviated version. Screen Shot 2020-09-17 at 8.58.23 AM.png If you're recording at home, it's good to use all three of the steps. The first one is a ...

Re: Whole Book or Chapter Mastering?
I’ve just watched an interview with 2 people from ACX Where is this interview? This makes sense It seems to make sense, but would only work if you have a perfect, professional reading style and never had any variation, ever, for the weeks it takes to read a book. There was a story about a broadcast...

Re: Recorded File was crushed and now doesnt play a sound
Not having sound and not being able to hear anything are two different things. Does the bouncing sound meter work? When you finish recording any work, immediately File > Export as a perfect quality WAV sound file. Put the file in a safe place, Thumb Drive? If anything happens to the edit to damage t...

Re: Importing MP3s to make all songs the same volume
it wasn't up to the task. What part didn't work right? making a project containing a number of songs that can be addressed individually. The "Play" part would be an iTunes playlist. How many times do you process all your songs? Any iPod or iPhone can do what you want. There used to be a s...

Re: Importing MP3s to make all songs the same volume
Your MP3s are stacked one over the other, right? I don't know. I never got one to work right. It seems the tools do everything in their power to thwart me. The basic idea is you spread them out so the second song starts when the first one ends. Repeat. Screen Shot 2020-09-16 at 7.42.35 PM.png That's...

Re: Recording on laptop battery power
There's entire courses devoted to these questions. As DVDDoug above, it's not the computer that has problems. It's the analog at both ends. Are recordings on laptop battery power better than with the charger connected ? Yes. In one swoop you're missing any mistakes and noises the charger may make an...

Re: Playback noises
in my headset. Wireless? If you have good wired headphones , you can use them to troubleshoot sound problems. They're super simple and don't depend on a quiet room, environmental friendliness, or radio connections to work. Wireless is always subject to the radio connection and if your app doesn't k...

Re: alesis firewire stop start every second win7
I think the answer is in there somewhere. With respect to this. AlesisConnections.png In group 2, you only have two connections, right, not eight? If so, then that's the end of the world for the desperation method. I wonder why they did that. The picture is of the larger Alesis (one manual) which ha...

Re: Looking for a good way to write a program to control record times.
Why is that? If you're doing this in Macro language, it's because a Macro is a single thread. It's do this and stop . Not do this and while that's going, do something else. Alternately, if you do get that to work, it won't stop. It sounds like you need Python or one of the other actual programming ...
