Re: Decibel slider to also show %
It's not stupid. It may not be the way you like to work. Sound doesn't work in percent. If you like working with the Audacity blue waves (also in percent) please note that they only show the loudest third of audible sounds. It happens to be convenient when trying to find that one drumbeat or music s...

You left out two important bits. Which Mac and how old, and how did you connect the two -- in detail.

Re: Output Routing For Tracks?
I think it's still true that Audacity doesn't have multi-channel output. Two, maybe, but no more.

Re: Connecting stereo to Mac
my main projects is to record my collection of vinyl. Classic turntables produce an intentionally distorted signal. That's normal. That's how they work. They require a "Phono-In" somewhere to remove the distortion (RIAA Compensation, if anybody asks) before you record the show in Audacity...

Re: Workflow Problem - Please help me correct.
You have to do this by listening. As much as we would like it, there's no button you can push to make it perfect. The blue waves and the bouncing sound meters will only get you in the ballpark. They won't produce a finished, balanced show. treating each section independently as a unique project. Rig...

Re: Help with Phone Call recording
OK. Lets take it in pieces. When somebody talks, the green and yellow sound meter lights on the right labeled R and L flash, right? Do they flash when somebody calls in on the cellphone? No, I don't think this is a setting in Audacity. Audacity is a slave to whatever the computer is doing, so the so...

Re: batch processing
You're right. There's a step missing. If I had to guess at it, I would drag-select my files and then apply the chain. When you try to apply a chain, is there a dialog of where to find a folder or directory with your files in it? There it is. "Apply To Files" and it opens a dialog where you...

Re: Cannot save project file triggers data loss
The twist on my problem is that when this error occurs, it blanks the first 20-30 minutes of the service. How did you get between the error message which is permanent and final and the damaged save? You missed a step in there -- maybe. The desperation method is to Export the work as a high-quality ...

Re: I need help merging recorded electronic drum tracks
1/8" audio cables connected to my computer for recording. Desktop computer blue Stereo Line-In, or laptop pink Mic-In? That's the first place people run into sound problems. I merged the recordings because it's bad quality or an echo. There's a number of places to get that. Does the show sound...

Re: Skipping in Mavericks
I know chances of this are zero, but do you have any way to record the skipping? Cellphone Personal Recorder APP?
