Re: Can't record streaming
I just used Soundflower to record a small portion of a TED talk on a Mavericks machine. You have a conflict there somewhere. I should find if you're getting blue waves and bouncing red sound meters. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_record.jpg If you are, you are getting a recording whether y...

And you're going to find, as I did, that nobody's making a good, XLR-type lavalier (tie-tack) microphone. They all make the natural assumption: "Of course you're going to want to plug it into a hip-pack for one of our expensive radio microphone systems." Let's say I don't. The other improb...

Some very manual recovery techniques may be possible if your AUP (Project Instructions) file vanished after recording but before editing. If you edited the work, then manual recovery is no longer possible.

Re: Cannot record from music program
Audacity does not support MIDI. You were set up for Self Recording which is much easier on WinXP. It may still be possible in Win7 with a little work. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_audio_playing_on_the_computer.html Self Recording is a dance between the Operating System, th...

Select the track you want to work on by clicking above the MUTE button? It sounds like you had both tracks selected by accident, maybe?

Getting performance stereo signals into a Windows laptop can be very entertaining and not in a good way. So tell us what you have and we'll make a stab at fixing it. The circle with two black arrows on a Mac is a real stereo line-In. It works famously and I've used it for some serious recordings. ht...

We wish you the best of luck with that. If you get something to work, post back and tell us how you did it. It's a Forum for sharing ideas, not a Help Desk.

Post back when you get something to work. It's a Forum for sharing ideas, not a Help Desk. I'd be particularly interested if you tried to get that mobile/cellphone recording technique to work. Just think. You can walk into an interview with nothing but a clean shirt, a cup of Starbucks and your cell...

Re: need help how to record and then burn cd from vinyl LP
You can make a stand-alone sound file in two steps. Step one is the capture step where your red recording sound meters bounce and the blue waves build themselves on the timeline. You got that nailed already. When you get to the end of the record, press Stop. File > Export: WAV (Microsoft)... Pick a ...
