Re: How to add Effect to only part of the song
Do you really want to apply effects to some instruments in the song without affecting others? We can't do that. We can't split a song up into individual instruments, singers and sounds.

Re: What settings can reduce export mp3 file size?
32 is the minimum MP3 quality for mono sound. I found that out by actual experimentation and then a bunch of my friends found the same number independently. Above 32, you can ignore the compression damage and enjoy the show if you never heard the original or had nothing to compare it to. Below that,...

Re: How to make Audacity "CoolEdit like"
Why is Cool Edit/Audition forbidden? Audacity is designed as a single user production package for home music, not a large file management program for an international news show.

Re: Skipping in Mavericks
My wife and I have different accounts on this computer. Do you have 'root' enabled, and is root the only entity allowed to make system changes? I want to loop back to capturing some of these pops. Do you have any other recorder available such as your cellphone Personal Sound Recorder? Since you hav...

Re: Skipping in Mavericks
Yes. The only movement was the clock ticking and Activity Monitor updating (and my breathing, since it was sitting on my tummy). I suppose the menu bar clock in the upper right was moving once a minute. Chrome was sitting minimized and went to a good nap there. Initially, I had Audacity sliding off ...

Re: Skipping in Mavericks
About a minute later Audacity slides into app nap. Same thing happens to Chrome when I stop using it.
However.
If I configure the screen as in the attached, Audacity went to sleep for about a second, once, and then stayed awake for several minutes, each configuration.

Re: Microphone not Working
One other note. Audacity looks for new microphones when it starts. If you start Audacity first and then plug in the microphone Audacity won't see it. Plug in the microphone, wait a couple of seconds and then restart (or restart) Audacity.

Re: Microphone not Working
The fading out thing is probably a Windows problem. Turn off Windows Enhanced Services. That service is intended to help with your voice when you conference or Skype. It kills singing.
