Re: Noise Removal Advice (with samples)
Same thing with wav2. Select some room tone by itself and use that for the profile step in Noise Removal. Juggle that first setting, Noise Reduction for tradeoff between quality of voices and background noise. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/noise_removal.html You can do sync the same way Holly...

Re: Noise Removal Advice (with samples)
Getting rid of the clunk is much more interesting. You'll have to edit that out either by selection and muting which will sound odd, or edit it out and put a segment of room tone back in. Since people are talking during those sounds, you're dead.

Re: Noise Removal Advice (with samples)
I got #3. That's a straight noise removal job. Use the segment of room tone at the beginning of clip wav3 for a profile and then apply it according to the settings in the illustration. Also: clip before and after. A common problem people have with Noise Removal is trying to make a "Studio Recor...

http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-ins#Noise_Gate Sorry. I can't always tell which ones are which. Also see: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=75942 Post a sample of the work. Use good quality MP3 (128 on a mono track). http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic....

Re: how to remove the breathing and clicks in the gaps?
You can stop the odd-sounding blanks during the repairs by putting in "room tone" instead of just smashing everything to total silence. Capture a segment of whatever sound the room makes naturally. Basically press record and shut up. Very few rooms are totally silent. Use pieces of that in...

Re: blips in loops
but i'm still hearing the blips. Are you looping inside Audacity? If you're not, some audio file formats loop a lot better than others. Something else that isn't obvious until you hit it. Are you the player? When you impress gentle vibrato during play by jiggling your left hand, those hand movement...

Re: Recording Volume Issue
That was the low-hanging fruit.
Which preamp exactly do you have? Model numbers or point to a web page.

Make sure 20dB gain is unpushed.

Re: Can't Record Using Serato DJ & Pioneer DDJ-SX Controller
Serato is the music manager software. Without that there is no show. That's the conflict. The computer trying to run Audacity is also the computer trying to manage the note-by-note presentation of the show through Serato.
It's our Skype conflict. Both programs "use up" the computer.

Re: Recording Volume Issue
First, make sure you're recording your new microphone and not the laptop built-in. That's remarkably easy to do by accident. Scratch the microphone with your finger and then the built-in. Only one of them should respond. Windows Control Panels can get into the act. Drill down to the sound controls a...

Re: Audio removed from track
My guess is the computer couldn't keep up with the blistering high data rate chosen and missed capturing bits and pieces here and there. We have posters whose machines can't keep up with normal data rates. There never was a whole show. Koz
