Re: Audacity won't open aup. file
DId you change any of the names between the time you saved the show and now? The file and the folder have to be the same name and they have to be the original name . Also, no fair moving them around so they split up. Both AUP file and _DATA folder have to be in the exact same folder or location to w...

Re: How can I add a 1.5ms time delay (not echo) to one chann
Also note, that even if you do export in a very high quality, the original MP3 damage is still waiting back there like a forgotten land mine. If you make an MP3 weeks down the road for posting on line, the distortion will go up again.
Never do production in MP3.

Re: How can I add a 1.5ms time delay (not echo) to one chann
I would also like to preserve the audio quality the best I can of course. Then you might not want to use Audacity for this. Audacity doesn't edit MP3. It converts an MP3 to its own very high quality internal format (the sound quality doesn't get any better, sorry), but then makes a new one on expor...

Re: 6 channel recording card
Restart Audacity to make sure it's seeing everything available (or Transport > Rescan). Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Devices > Recording > Device That's the list of everything Audacity can see. It's up to the drivers and devices to make sound available or not. Audacity is a complete slave to what...

Re: No record from audio-cassette play via line-in port
Many Windows laptops have only the Mic-In and Headphone Out because they're intended to be business communications devices, not generic computers. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PCHeadset.jpg These are also the Skype connections. Some very rare machines can switch one connection and even rar...

Re: 6 channel recording card
Many multi-channel soundcards make their work available as sets of stereo channels. Audacity will only recognize one set at a time.

Sometimes you can delete the line and go with that, but in this case, isn't it just that the tag isn't closed?

Re: CONFUSION ABOUT EXTRACTING MULTI-LAYER SAMPLES
We can't take a show apart into individual instruments or voices. Very few software packages can do that and the ones that do don't always leave a theatrically desirable show behind. Effect > Vocal Removal can remove everything in the left-right center of a stereo show. That's a relatively simple ar...

Re: removing noise from a recording
If you are the adventurous sort, you could try Effect > Noise Removal, too. That might need a little bit of editing on your part. Cut the presentation (temporarily, make a backup copy of the show) until you have several of these clunks by themselves on the timeline. Drag-select them and use them as ...

Re: removing noise from a recording
If the noise is louder than the show, you have two options. You can do it manually where you zoom into each blue wave pen sound (it will stick up), drag-select it and mute it with Control-L. Or you can go to a Nyquist plug-in and try to do it automatically. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_...
