Re: Ability to "Save" Pan Settings in a Stereo Track

that pan setting does NOT save to .wav.
It does when I do it.

Audacity doesn't Save WAV files. You have to File > Export to get one. Is that what happened? You Saved a sound file instead of Export?

Re: Unwanted voice change!

Missed one. While you're live recording/overdubbing with a microphone, you must wear headphones. No option. Audacity overdubs by running live, real-time playback and live, real-time recording and any leakage between those two is pure evil. Among other things, because of the gymnastics Audacity has t...

Re: Unwanted voice change!

Post some of the voice. Otherwise we're all guessing. https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=72887 One of the first steps in the overdubbing instructions is to make sure you can make a plain, pure, simple recording. If you can't, you need to fix that first. There's nothing like tryi...

Re: interference of iShowU and Soundflower

I was going to suggest clearing the Audacity config files. They have a nasty habit of hanging onto stuff sometimes whether you want them to or not.

Was that a feature of Audacity3? An option to really, for real start over when you reinstall the program?

Re: Audacity falls down?

Need a little more. What are you recording? If a microphone, which one and how do you have it connected? Which Mac?

Do you use iCloud?

Re: Resolving Noise Floor at "-inf DB" ??

i see you say you "mastered it" to get it to pass Screen Shot 2020-09-23 at 10.40.10 AM.png Right out of the instructions in the wiki. When I got done, I ran Analyze > ACX Check . Screen Shot 2020-09-23 at 7.22.23 AM.png I didn't do anything magic and technically, that does pass. You're n...

Re: Resolving Noise Floor at "-inf DB" ??

Thanks for the sound file. First audiobook? I mastered it and it did pass ACX Check, but noise did it by fractions of dB not the recommended 5dB. -60.29dB, not -65dB. Nobody can read directly into ACX. Or if you do, it was by accident and you can't do it twice. You're stuck with recording close and ...

Re: Resolving Noise Floor at "-inf DB" ??

I did not use Generate> Silence. -Inf dB came from somewhere . You didn't shoot that with your microphone system. Effect > Noise Gate ? You mentioned having noise problems in your performances. Noise Gate is one of the "miracle" cures that people go for to rescue a noisy performance. I th...

Re: Resolving Noise Floor at "-inf DB" ??

It's good to know that Audacity uses a super sound system internally to keep from damaging your show as you apply effects, filters and corrections. So given that, it's pretty certain you didn't actually shoot sound at -infinity dB. But it can seem that way if you Generate > Silence and stick that in...

Re: Metronome Ticks Removal

You're not posting problems like "how do I make my sound louder." You're posting brain surgery problems and some problems have no fix.
