All those features are based on Audacity working live in real time. Audacity doesn't do that. Audacity is a post production editor. Capture and then edit. Two steps. I think there's a feature request for that in a future version.

both of them acoustically through condenser microphone. Sometimes it's good to be very wordy about how you're doing that. Model numbers? Mixers? You might get that if you were recording "Everything On The Computer" instead of your microphone. That's a valid setting on many computers. Look...

Re: Record using presets
Audacity is not a real-time editor. It doesn't do anything to your show while it's recording.

Re: Why could my Mic be doing this sound?
Which Mac? I'm typing on a Mac Mini with OS-X 10.6.8. That's it on the right http://www.kozco.com/mytv/caleigh2_982x600b.jpg Are you going through a USB hub or did you decide to invest in one of the new USB3 hard drives? Put Audacity in monitor mode (click once on the red recording sound meters) and...

Re: Turning tracks from one large file into separate files
While your audio file is still one audio file, Place labels at the beginning of each song including the first song.

Re: Imported File View on Audacity
The second one is a mono file of slightly high level that should play to both sides of stereo speakers. The top file is a low volume stereo file. If you play the file and both green sound meters exactly match, then you have a two-track mono file. The same show exactly on left and right. If the green...

dither is likely to mess up precise "scientific" measurements. "The bit values in my song are not at the perfect, expected values. What are you clowns doing!!" (Not that far from an actual post) this has opened a whole new world of audio tinkering for me! So you'll be back to he...

Re: Partial Loss of Audio
While you're performing, do you get the bouncing red sound meters and blue waves collecting on the timeline? http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_record.jpg More importantly, do you get an occasional flash of the hard drive light? I suppose you may not know that one that because of the intense g...
