Re: Alignment probem exporting and importing
I probably would not do that in a compressed format. The compressed formats, MP3, M4A, etc are Delivery Formats. That is, make an M4A out of the final show , Full Stop, not steps in the middle of production. You should avoid production in those formats because every time you overlay another instrume...

Re: problems recording using a Tascam US-600 interface
If you have something set-up wrong and you end up with "mono" sound on only the left or only the right channel of a stereo recording I think that's normal, not wrong. The USB output of the interface is default stereo and the two microphone connections default to all the way Left and all t...

Re: Manipulating Decibels
Not sure what that means And we're not either. That's the problem. The show goes down a rabbit hole accompanied by scary music and emerges an hour later having gone through goodness knows what in the middle. I don't like rabbit holes. I can't program a rabbit hole and I can't tell posters how to de...

Re: problems recording using a Tascam US-600 interface
First of all, it hardly records any sound at all...very little "wave". Forget Audacity for a minute. Can you get the green signal lights on the Tascam to work and can you overload it (red lights) if you want to — as a test. If you can't get either one, then you are recording too quiet (or...

Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.
My immediate preference is outside the box. The voice is more open and natural and much of the boom goes away. I would have zero trouble listing to a story in that voice. That's how I remember my borrowed Snowball used to sound. Now if you can figure out how to get rid of the background fan noise, y...

Re: Audio disappearing as Audacity records
"Moonphase" is a type of problem. It's a joke on the fact that a problem seems to appear with a particular phase of the moon and for no apparent reason other than that. Bogus, of course, but it fits right in with unstable machines having a "personality." "Every time I make m...

Re: Disappearing Labels
However, today I finished one and immediately noticed that several labels I just went over had already gone missing (some of them the same as the ones that were initially missing that I had just put back in, some of them new ones). We have to build this in our imaginations as we go. So you put seve...
