Many of the tools require that the show fit into memory. If you have a gazillion GB of on-board memory, then you're good to go. Most people don't.

Re: Troubles with Audacity 2.4.2 and Loudmax Plug-in
Plugins that do things sometimes work with Audacity. Plugins that have graphics or display management fail. Audacity can't deal with that.

Re: I passed the latency test
I see you made a distinction between the click track and the rhythm track. Some people don't. The second track is needs to match and if you're performing live, remember that human reaction time is a thing, too.

Re: I passed the latency test
play your backing, rhythm, and accompaniment tracks In case that went by quickly, you only need the backing track once. After that you can play as many tracks as you wish into your headphones. This is the process that lets you sing harmony to yourself. Set the tracks that play with the SOLO and MUT...

Re: Constant Crashing
If you're not doing anything wrong, maybe you have help. Desktop > Go > Utilities > Activity Monitor . I keep that in my dock. Load up a complex show and see where the resources are going. You may get some surprises. I had a licensing task get it in its mind to keep re-launching itself recursively a...

Re: help with 2 mics
There is another way. Have your guest bring their laptop, load Audacity on it, and plug in your USB microphone. Record the analog microphone on your machine. Export the USB show as WAV and post it to your computer for mixing with your show. It probably won't fit in email, so you may need to post it ...

Re: Fixing Latency on Wireless headphones
You have to be very specific about device names in Audacity. The fun with wireless devices is finding them. Sometimes the machine may not make the wireless sound available for production. I know it's not popular, but I'm not a fan of wireless headphones for just the problems you're having. The purpo...

Re: I passed the latency test
Do I have to run a latency test before I record the next rhythm track? No. The rhythm track is the one track that doesn't need testing. It's the master to which all others have to match. You might check the second track, the one you're playing with the rhythm track. You don't have to set up for the...

Re: help with 2 mics
is there a way to put those to work in audacity together so i can record like a podcast or something? No. Audacity will only record from one thing at a time. The USB microphone is a thing and the internal soundcard is a thing. Your thing or device can be a sound mixer and the sound mixer can have m...
Re: Big Sur?
Just don't want that to happen again. It will happen again. We don't have audio production appliances. We have general purpose computers and as long as we treat them like do-all machines, the updates and the interruptions will continue. One of the solutions for live recording problems is stop recor...
