Re: Searching help to remove metallic sound from audio
not the best idea, but bare with me The phone recorder is likely causing that problem, You can get rid of the clicks by selecting each one and silencing it with Control-L. There are more exotic ways to deal with this by using the vinyl record click removers. The metallic sound you're stuck with. Th...

Re: Record a Video Conference
I'm afraid all the ways to do this that I have involve separate machines. Conference systems are very highly tuned and balanced environments and don't put up with very much messing about.

Re: Record a Video Conference
Sure. We used to do this with a computer that logs into the conference but doesn't have any people — or even in one case any camera or microphone. That machine records "What's playing on the computer" which will be the audio and video of all the other people (basically the whole conference...

Re: Behringer UCA202 and Pioneer mixer issue
using the booth output We do warn people about that. It's usually better to take a split of the show or main output rather than the booth. Booth has the segues, cross fade lead-ins and beat matching whereas the show output only has the actual show. Unless you want all the cross-fade previews. Windo...

Re: Sync Drift from different Zoom Recorders
You can certainly get complicated, but for five bucks you can get a clapboard you can use with any camera or any sound device. Or multiple devices. Hand off the work to any good editor and you're done. Please note the clapboard also has show information, time and date built-in. 80% of shooting a sho...

Re: Is Audacity suitable for me?
Maybe not Audacity. Audacity Noise Removal only works on steady, repeatable noises like air conditioning or computer fan noise — hum or buzz. It falls apart pretty fast if the noise is erratic or close to white noise (rain in the trees).

Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.
On occasion I will forget that not everyone has access to all locations on the forum and send somebody to the wrong place. Send a note when I do that. We need to keep right in front the goal of one-take, no effects. As a fuzzy concept, the ACX guidelines are expected to be met by someone presenting ...

Re: Installing George Young's W1 Limiter.component plug-in
I ran the mp3 file I created on Garage Band We'd probably not do that. MP3 processing creates sound distortion and the distortion goes up every time you make a new one and the damage can be serious. You can capture in Audacity and do all your processing and effects in the very high quality Audacity...

Re: record from audio stream
Some computers record the exact speaker signal. That means you can't mute the speakers without killing the show.
